Teak plugs on Hunter 31

I’m a bit hesitant about drilling out the teak plugs to refinish the wood. Is it hard to find new ones? Any tips on removing the old ones without ruining the piece?

They are called “bungs” and are inserted in “bung holes” created to cover the heads of screws or bolts. Almost any marine store has them.
